Job Title: PREP Health Educator
Location: Project Reach Youth Site, Brooklyn, NY
Salary Range: $50,000 – $52,000
Position Summary:
The PREP Health Educator will facilitate evidence-based sexual health workshops for adolescents in high school settings, provide individualized risk reduction counseling, and coordinate a peer education group at the Project Reach Youth site. This role is vital to promoting adolescent health and supporting youth in making informed, empowered decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate evidence-based sexual health workshops using the Making Proud Choices curriculum in schools and community-based settings.
Provide individualized risk reduction counseling and connect high-risk youth to appropriate services, including school-based health centers.
Coordinate and co-lead a peer education group, including planning meetings, supervision, and session reporting.
Provide rapid HIV counseling and testing at school-based health centers and complete related documentation.
Participate in team meetings, community events, and data reporting to support overall program goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Education, Social Work, or a related field
At least three years of experience working with young adults
Strong interpersonal and workshop facilitation skills
Passion for youth development and sexual health education
Preferred Qualifications:
HIV testing experience
Experience using EPIC or other electronic medical record systems
Fluency in a second language (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Arabic, etc.)
